Forest City Auto Museum Featured on UNC-TV

Bennett Classics Antique Auto Museum Introduced to a Statewide Audience

Thursday, Jan. 1 at 9 PM, UNC-TV’s NC Weekend aired a feature on Bennett Classics Antique Auto Museum. A listing of this week’s show describes the story, saying: “This newly opened antique auto museum in the little town of Forest City has everybody talking.”

After the story’s initial run on Jan. 1, NC Weekend will be rebroadcast several times through the weekend. For show times, Click Here.

Buddy Bennett, President of the Museum said, “We appreciate what everybody did to make this happen. They spent
a good bit of time with us and I think they did a really nice story. I believe it’s going to bring some people here.”
UNC-TV initially came to Rutherford County in December when an invitation from the Rutherford County
Tourism Development Authority (TDA) brought the show here to cover Forest City’s Hometown Holidays. While
UNC-TV was here, they also recorded the Bennett Auto Museum story and a feature on MSquared restaurant in
Spindale.

The MSquared story will run later this year, and the Hometown Holiday story will air at the beginning of next year’s
holiday season. TDA Director Ann Almond says, “The invitation to UNC-TV came as part of efforts designed to
boost tourism here. It’s one of the most important economic forces we have in our county, and great exposure like
this will help us all.”

Bennett Auto Museum will again gain attention March 28th when they host and sponsor the “Burning Rubber”
bonfire, which is part of another TDA effort. The TDA is promoting the “Ignite the Night” bonfire series, a series
of bonfires to increase winter tourism. The five bonfires will be held by different groups at locations all over the
county, full of a wide range of entertainment and food. For more information on the “Burning Rubber” and other
bonfires, Click Here.
