Music Travel: LeAnn Rimes in Concert

September 11, LeAnn Rimes takes the stage of Forest City’s McNair Field…the headline of a full evening of great music.
Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with the first band taking the stage at 6:30. A wide variety of concessions, including artist merchandise, will be available.
The concert will feature a line-up of 3 artists beginning with one of the best live performance groups in country music – Ricochet.
One of country music’s hottest new artists will follow as Fast Ryde takes the stage.
The headline artist for the evening is Curb Records recording artist LeAnn Rimes.
Ticket prices range from $20 to $40 and are available for purchase on-line at ForestCityConcerts.com.

Nature Travel: Flock to the Rock

September 19 -20 -- Birds flock to Chimney Rock! All kinds of programs are being offered to get you going bonkers over birds, too. With guided walks with Ornithologist Simon Thompson, opportunities to “get up close and personal” with rehabilitating birds, a backyard birding program for kids, and all kinds of fun activities, this weekend also marks the annual hawk migration over our area and when dozens, sometimes hundreds, of hawks can be seen heading to southern wintering grounds.

Family Travel: Spindale Fall Festival...Garden Nights...and More

September 18 -19 -- Come out & join the fun at Spindale’s Fall Festival. Friday evening will feature a Classic Car Show and Street Dance on Main Street. Put on your dancing shoes and shag the night away!
Saturday is a good old-fashioned Street Festival complete with a pie eating contest, and a great assortment of arts, crafts, food and children’s activities being throughout the town! Times are Friday 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 p.m.. For more information call 828-288-4875 after 6:00 p.m..
One highlight of the 4th annual festival will include the unveiling of local historian Robin Lattimore's new book on Spindale.
